An investigation of touch, movement and what Cadu calls a daily choreography. Touch, lure, event, performing, vectors and scales, cuffs, self-surrender, traces, are elements of a landscape that is popping up into my investigation. Lygia Clark, Hubert Godard, Angel Vianna and José Gil are some of the authors that provide inspiration and materials to this proposition.

Bench Talk (various locations) 10am

This is an adaptation of a technique that was used at an event Erin Manning and Brian Massumi were at in Greece this summer (the RICE School of Dance). It’s called bench talks. People would invite one another for a bench talk, post it on a schedule board, and then meet at the designated bench for a conversation of exactly 1 hour.

Savage Thought: David Kopenawa + Xapiri, SenseLab EV 10-785, 3:30pm

The « Savage Thought » reading group studies the thinking at work in the Indigenous communities in Brazil. Central to this is Eduardo Viveiros de Castro’s notion of the « savage thought, » who develops what he calls perspectivism — “when everything is human, what is a human?” — as a conceptual way of thinking differently about human-nature relations. In parallel, we read other important texts from Brazilian thinkers that in some way supplement de Castro’s work.

Screening of Video-Piece Movable Noisy Spaces  by Bianca Cabral (Brazil) 1pm

This dance-video is a result of an investigation on cross-disciplinary improvisation.

We have asked ourselves how performance could allude past and future of a heritage building, which belongs to a Congregation and has been used initially as an asylum for children in the beginning of the 20th century and that has been the home of the City’s Planning Institute for 50 years.

Casting body parts workshop with Flo (Australia), EV 10-760 1:30pm

The anarchival re-performance of Lygia Pape’s Divisor (1968) will take place in the corridor leading to the SenseLab. We’ll play with the concept of the divid/ the dividual, since we will be communicating with our heads alone (with multiplied, collective mouths, eyes, ears). Recordings into the Anarchical Soundscapes will take place. See Lygia Pape’s 1968 performance here: https://youtu.be/llSs3S43yzM

How do you make yourself an Econaut? Answering this question will involve the throwing of some ‘unchained blocks’ of (soft-)thought [an anarchived blockchain?] to generate conversations around money in relation to individualised collectivity/collectivised individuation, monetary architectures, currency design, the anarchiving of value, the lesson of Bitcoin, and economic space travel.

Nós as Knots – A togetherness practice inspired on Lygia Clark, workshop led by Cadu Mello (Brazil), Black Box (Concordia), 11am

The idea is to build a huge bench talk in the room adjacent to the SenseLab. Instead of benches… an elastic net. The knots of it will be a parenthesis for us to do whatever we want while we make the knots: chating and gathering techniques for the anarchive… what (un)bounds us. One constraint: bring very big rubber bands so we can build a net and sense elasticity together.
